JAZZ on TOP of Mt. Moiwa — SAPPORO MUSIC JOINT
An evening on top of Sapporo — jazz, taste and sunset.
Sapporo sits in a bowl of mountains. Mt. Moiwa rises from its southern edge, and its forest became Hokkaido's first National Natural Monument in 1921. More than 450 plant species grow there.
You ride up through that forest — first by ropeway, painted in Sapporo's landscape colours, then by the world's first mini cable car — to the summit, 531 metres above the city.
You arrive shortly before sunset. Over the welcome drink the sky changes colour, and by the time the quintet begins, the grid laid out in 1869 is spread below you as lines of light. Sapporo is one of Japan's New Three Major Night Views.
Dinner is a full course built around Hokkaido's autumn produce by Yusuke Kagota, Head Chef at THE JEWELS, with free-flow drinks…
